POLLARD RECEIVE AWARD FROM SALISBURY CIVIC SOCIETY
Salisbury Civic Society have presented Pollard with an award for their work on the development of a new multi million pound health centre for Salisbury Medical Practice
The scheme, known as Fisherton House, involved the development of a new two storey building on part of the former Old Manor Hospital site together with the redevelopment of the hospital’s former listed ballroom, to create a new facility for two local practices, a dental surgery, pharmacy and a base for the Great Western Ambulance.
Commenting on the award for ‘Outstanding New Building’, the judges said “overall their success in achieving the required facilities, while still making a strong visual impact on a very visible site, was felt to make them well worth an award”.
Bill Badham, Managing Director of Pollard, responding following the award said “to have our work recognised in this way is particularly pleasing. This was a very challenging project combining new build as well as the refurbishment of a listed structure, the result of which has seen the creation of an important community facility”.
Other winners on the evening included the new Stonehenge Visitor Centre.
