ROYAL OPENING FOR THE LODGE, EXETER
The latest phase of The Lodge care home in Exeter, undertaken by regional contractor Pollard and handed over earlier this year, was officially opened in June by Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Gloucester.
The new development at one of Exeter’s premier care homes for Elizabeth Finn Homes, comprises a 16 bed extension including 2 rooms for couples, together with a large extended conservatory. Called the Tremlett Wing, the new facility has been named after Walter Tremlett, a prominent Exeter businessman who had the original house built in 1880.
In her remarks the Duchess, who is a patron of the charity Turn2us, the parent of Elizabeth Finn Care, commended all those involved in the project before unveiling a plaque and cutting a cake to mark the occasion. She also met with many of those involved including Pollard’s Contract Manager John Nisbet and Site Manager Gary Semple.
Commenting at the ceremony Richard Hawes, CEO of Elizabeth Finn Homes, said “I am delighted with the new wing and extended conservatory, and I would like to pay tribute to all involved in this successful project”.
